PLEIN AIR

Plein Air Event

Say goodbye to the studio and get outdoors.

Sunday, June 4th, 2023
5:00 PM
Registration Deadline: May 26th, 2023

En plein air is a French expression meaning “in the open air” and refers to the act leaving behind the four walls of a studio in favor of painting outdoors with the artist’s subject in full view. Plein air artists capture the spirit and essence of a landscape or subject by incorporating natural light, color and movement into their works.

Plein Air is a Clinton County Art Council program dedicated to enhancing the public’s awareness of the freedom of painting “en plein air” while providing a venue for established and emerging artists alike to share creative endeavors with collectors and the public.

Registration for this two-dimensional art event is open to all artists, high school students and older. Media choices include: oils, acrylics, watercolors, gouache, pastels, charcoal or pencil and mixed media. The exhibition remains on view and available for sale through June 1, 2022 in the Art and Soul Gallery in Downtown Saint Johns, MI.
