MONTHLY FEATURED ARTIST

Featured CCAC Artist of the Month

May 2026

We are pleased to announce our Featured CCAC Artist for May of 2026 is Tom Tomasek!

While growing up in rural Michigan, I was instilled with an appreciation of the diverse land that our state is comprised of. My mission as a landscape painter is not to just document places, but to share the feeling that a place invokes.

Whether it is a farmland tract, a wetland or a spectacular Great Lakes shoreline, I feel that they are all important. –Tom Tomasek

A pastel artist with a focus on landscape, Tom’s work has been included in exhibitions throughout Michigan with awards received at the Muskegon Museum of Art, Ann Arbor Art Center, Midland Center for the Arts and the Saginaw Art Museum. Three paintings were selected to be shown at the Michigan Governor’s Residence, Lansing.

Tom was one of four artists chosen to represent Michigan in Japan as part of the “Art from the Lakes”, an artist exchange program with Michigan’s Sister State, Shiga Prefecture.

Workshops in pastel technique have been conducted at Interlochen Center for the Arts, Saginaw Art Museum, Holland Area Arts Council and at the Golden Apple Art Residency, Maine where Tom has been an Artist in Residence.

Paintings have been published in the book ” Art of the Sleeping Bear Dunes” and the Pastel Journal Magazine.

We invite you to join us at the Art & Soul Gallery for Tom’s reception. Please check back for the time and date soon! Come meet Tom, view his work on display at the gallery, participate in a Question and Answer Session about his work, inspiration, background, and discuss some of the stories behind his work. Refreshments will be served.
