August/September Classes:

Intro to Watercolor – August 6, 1:00 – 3:30 PM
Intro to Watercolor Fundamentals starts our watercolor painting understanding. This is the first step in her series of painting classes (there will be 4 levels total). This class would also be great for those that have little to no watercolor experience but would like to gain knowledge on controlling water and paint. The cost is $35 per person. The max number of people is 6. This class will be held at the gallery.

Japanese Notan – August 10, 1:00 – 3:00 PM
The focus of Japanese Notan art is the balance between the light and the dark. It encompasses creating a piece that allows the light to compliment the darkness rather than overshadow it. The yin/ yang symbol is probably the most famous and simple example of this form of art. Andrea Czarnik will provide instructions in how to design a pattern that creates a balance between positive and negative space. This is a two-day class in 2 hour increments. You will need to bring a few supplies for this class: 2B Pencil, eraser, pencil sharpener, 2 black Sharpies (one thin and one thicker), multi-media paper pad (9 x 12 or 11 x 14), and a ruler. The cost for this class is $50. The max number of people is 8. This class will be held at the gallery.

Ceramics – Part I – August 18, 6:00 – 9:00 PM
This Ceramics is a two part class with the second class on Sept 1, 6:00 – 9:00 PM. Attendees will be able to make 3 projects – A tray, a pomegranate scented oil diffuser, and air plant holders. During the first class, participants will be constructing their pieces. Projects will be left at the gallery for drying and firing. During the second class, pieces will be glazed. All projects will be able to be picked up after the final Firing. All supplies will be included. The cost is $130 total for both classes. Max number of participants – 8. This class will be held at the gallery.

Tattoo Design – August 23, 6:00 – 8:00 PM
Charli Langlois from Ink Craft tattoo is giving us a rare opportunity in sharing her knowledge of tattoo design. Students are encouraged to bring in sketches and tattoo ideas that they would like to get an expert opinion on. Charli will be teaching us about the different aspects of what goes into a great tattoo like light and shadow, color choice, tattoo placement design, etc. This is a class that is not being offered anywhere else and the cost is fantastic. It’s only $20 per person. Seating is limited so make sure to sign up before it’s gone. This max for this class is 18 people. This will be taught at the gallery.

Ceramics – Part II – September 1, 6:00 – 9:00 PM
This Ceramics is a two part class.

Watercolor Fundamentals Level 2 – September 8, 6:00 – 9:00 PM
Susan Mahoney’s Watercolor Fundamentals Level 2 class is designed for those that have taken her previous two classes or have a good foundational knowledge of watercolor painting. The cost for this class is $45. The max number of students is 6.

Bracelet Wire Wrap – September 21, 6:30 – 8:30 PM
This Wire Wrapping Bracelet class is meant for beginners and those that have some experience with wire wrapping. Some physical hand strength is required for this class due to working with heavier wire. We will learn how to wrap beads into a bracelet, as well as creating our own clasps and loops for closures with wire. There will be multiple colors of beads to choose from, as well as a choice in metal color, silver or gold. At the time of sign up, please let Theressa, at the gallery, know your preference, otherwise you will need to choose from what is provided the night of the class. The cost for this class is $35. The max number of people is 6. This class will be taught at the gallery.
