The Art & Soul Gallery hosts a myriad of talented artists, featuring paintings, jewelry, printmaking, pottery, glassware, metalwork, illustrations, literature and more. Some of these wonderful artists will be sharing their knowledge with you through our new classes!

When signing up for a class, please fill out the shipping as the Square requires. You will not be shipped a physical item or ticket. For the class, you will sign in at the Art & Soul Gallery, as your name is on the list. Sorry for the confusion.

June/July Classes

Watercolor Fundamentals – Level 3: ColorSunday, June 11th, 1:00-5:00pm

Color harmony in a painting is important, but choosing colors that work together can be tricky. This class taught by Susan Mahoney at the Art and Soul Gallery will explore primary triads and the secondary, tertiary, and neutral colors they create. You’ll also learn how to use color to depict light and shadows. The concepts covered in all three Watercolor Fundamental classes will be used for the final project, a still life. This class is $45.

Play With Clay Youth CampWednesdays, June 14th – July 26th

Learn multiple techniques used in hand building and slab clay creating at the Art & Soul Gallery with local Michigander, Debbie Fehrenbach, a professional multimedia artist.

Wednesday mornings, 10:00am – 1:00pm, for Middle School students, and afternoons, 2:00pm – 5:00pm, for High School students. Space is limited to 12 students per group. $50 includes all 6 weeks.

Beginners’ Wood Burning Class – Tuesday, June 13th – 6:30 PM

In this fun and creative beginners’ class at the Art & Soul GalleryLauri Stephens will teach you the basics of wood burning, such as how to safely use a burning iron, temperature management, image transferring, and which woods are best to use. You can design up to two, framable, 5 x 7 illustrations with plenty of time to practice beforehand! Bring your friends, family or just your wonderful self and create with us! All supplies will be included. This class costs $35.

Stained Glass Class – Saturday, June 17th – 10:00 AM – 4:00 PM

The Art and Soul Gallery will be having another, beginner to intermediate stained glass class! Lauri Stephens of The She Shed will be teaching the entire process of stained glass making, from pattern decisions, glass cutting and grinding the glass to the finishing steps of foiling and soldering. The spots for this class are limited. The cost of the class will be $100.

12″ Mandala Painting WorkshopSunday, June 25th, 12:00 – 4:00 PM

Join us at the Art & Soul Gallery for this fun and relaxing class taught by Theressa Levett to create your very own, wooden mandala. The creative process of mandala making helps to find peace in the universe through balance. Mandalas can be made with a myriad of patterns and designs. It is all up to the artist what the pattern becomes and means to them. Mandalas can also be made simply for the artist to enjoy the process. All supplies are provided. You will be able to create one, wooden mandala. This class is $40.

Beginner Scrapbooking ClassTuesday, June 27th, 6:30 PM – 8:00 PM

Looking to preserve your memories in style? Join Ida VanBeelen at the Art & Soul Gallery for her wonderful scrapbooking class! Ida will help you learn how fun and satisfying it can be to put them into albums where they can be enjoyed for years! You’ll want to bring 8-12 printed photos and we’ll each create two scrapbook layouts and a decorative border. Class fee is $25. Supplies will be provided.

Byzantine Chainmail Bracelet ClassThursday, June 29th, 6:30 PM

In this fun beginners’ class taught by Theressa Levett at the Art & Soul Gallery, you will learn the basics of chainmail by creating a weaved bracelet. Using pliers, you will learn how to open and interlock aluminum jump rings in the deceptively easy but iconic Byzantine Weave. You will have a choice of ring color and type (round or square). All supplies provided. One bracelet. The cost of this class is $25.

Cancellations 48 hours to 24 hours will recieve half their payment back. Those under 24 hours, or no shows, are nonrefundable. Our teachers buy supplies based on attendance anticipated and cannot always return supplies.

If a class is cancelled by the gallery, those who have paid ahead will receive a full refund.
