CONCERTS IN THE PARK

Clinton County Arts Council & the City of St. Johns proudly announces:

Concerts in the Park Series: Our 23rd Season

The King of Rock and Roll is back in St. Johns on Sept. 2nd!

Wednesday, September 2, 2026 at 7:00pm

The largest crowd last year at the St. Johns Concert in the Park series was at the closing concert! It is anticipated that another grand finale will take place again this year as Elvis returns to St. Johns with his Hound Dog in tow for this wonderful tribute to one of the greatest performers of all-time. This fun evening will take place on Wednesday, September 2 starting at 7:00 in the William E. Tennant Performance Shell in the beautiful St. Johns City Park.

“It has been a long-standing tradition to close our season with an Elvis tribute artist,” acknowledges Bill Tennant, chair of the concert season committee. “People expect this and plan on coming up for this amazing final concert each year. And they aren’t disappointed as we go all out, even bringing out a spotlight, to make sure that this special event is truly special.”

The King is Jake Slater, from the Traverse City area, who has been doing his award-winning tribute to Elvis for the past 17 years. Jake is a National and International award-winning Elvis Tribute Artist who has performed throughout
Michigan, across the country, and in Canada. He has won awards in Branson, Tupelo, Memphis & Winsor.

AND, the incredible Josh Ramses Band, a popular Bay City based band, will join Jake on stage for this special performance. This 4-piece band has been a major backup band for Jake now for several years, presenting shows around the state together each year. On their own, the band performs a variety of music including blues, classic rock, country, 50s, 60s, 70s, 80s, from a host of different artists.

Together, Jake and the band team up to put forth an unforgettable evening of some the greatest rock and roll songs ever written. This concert will be a great conclusion to a wonderful season in St Johns. It is hoped to see another
overwhelming turnout at this season ending grand finale.

The Concert in the Park series is co-sponsored by the Clinton County Arts Council and the City of St Johns. Several of our “super” sponsors will be acknowledged at this concert – those who were acknowledged at previous concerts, which had weather related problems – and unfortunately there were several this year. The Concert in the Park Committee again is grateful to all their sponsors for their support over the years, making the seasons possible.

Bring a chair or blanket – visit the Lion’s Club Food Trailer – the concert takes place rain or shine. The concert is free, but donations are greatly appreciated and needed to support the series each year. We do pass the buckets at intermission.

So, set your GPS to 801 W Park St, and enjoy an evening of music you won’t soon forget! The CCAC receives funding from the Michigan Council for Arts & Cultural affairs and the National Endowment for the Arts.

Quality & Variety Highlight “Concert in the Park” Series

Get those lawn chairs and blankets ready – and ready yourselves to experience an exciting series of 12 concerts on Wednesday evenings throughout the summer.  From June 17 – September 2, the William E Tennant Performance Shell in the beautiful St. Johns City Park will be alive with the wonderful sounds of music –  quality performances each week presented by incredible musicians.

“Our committee has done a great job of putting this series together again this year,” explains Bill Tennant, Concert in the Park Committee Chairperson. “We have 4 new groups joining us this summer: 2 top Lansing area bands, 1 from Ann Arbor with the fourth group coming in from Toronto, Canada – an ABBA Tribute Band. Also, there will be 5 groups from last year and 3 from previous years – and yes, ending our series with Elvis, a highlight tradition here in St Johns. It all adds up to  one truly exciting summer of concerts.”

Set aside Wednesday evenings this summer and join in on the fun with others from throughout mid-Michigan… there’s nothing like live music!

There’s no better way to savor a summer night than spending a warm evening outdoors for a concert in the park. Sponsored jointly by the Clinton County Arts Council and the City of St. Johns, our “Concert in the Park” series begins in mid-June each summer and runs for twelve weeks.
