Clinton Northern Railway
Full steam ahead!
The mission of the Clinton Northern Railway is to preserve the history of the railroad and its impact on small town America at the turn of the century and beyond.
We are a museum, a tour of history and a cultural experience.
Visit historic railroad cars like Annie, our 1926 Ann Arbor Crew Car, the 1903 RPO car, our 1920 Barney and Smith Sleeper Car and a 1927 Caboose, built in Port Huron, MI. We also have a full Railway Museum in the depot.
The Museum is open to the public on Sundays from 1:00 – 3:00 p.m., May through October. Tours of the historic rail cars are also available at this time.
If you would like to schedule a visit outside of our normal hours of operation, please contact us at 989.224.6134
The Clinton Northern Railway Museum is available for rent for private functions through the City of St. Johns. Please call the City of St. Johns at: 989-224-8944 for reservations.
Clinton Northern Railway is in need of volunteers! If you know which end of a scraper, hammer or paintbrush to use, you are highly qualified. The two rail cars being restored are the 44 passenger sleeper car (1902) and the Railroad Post Office (1903). If weather is accommodating we will be working on the exterior of the rail cars, stripping paint, replacing rotting boards and resurfacing. If the weather is less favorable we will work on restoring the interior of these cars.
