Come in from the cold and get warmed in body and spirit at the second annual Art of Healing exhibit held at Clinton County Arts Council (CCAC)’s Gallery, 211 N. Clinton Avenue, St. Johns. The exhibit starts on Sunday, February 1 at the First Sunday Gallery Stop held 1:00 – 3:00 PM. Throughout the month of February the exhibit can continue to be enjoyed during regular Gallery hours: Tuesday – Friday, 10:00 AM – 5:30 PM and Saturday, 10:00 AM – 2:00 PM.

Work featured in the Art of Healing exhibit is contributed by the over 55 member artists of CCAC, selected by the artists specifically to fit this theme.

On February 1 at 2:00 PM, there will be a special presentation on music therapy, presented by Rachael Short. Ms Short, who is the organist for the First Congregational Church in St. Johns, is working on a degree in music therapy at Michigan State University. Her presentation will focus on using music therapy with people who have Parkinson’s Disease, but many of the techniques she will describe and demonstrates are useful in a variety of situations. Audience participation will be encouraged as this is an experience-based presentation.

The Art of Healing exhibit is being sponsored by Clinton Memorial Hospital, for which Clinton County Arts Council is extremely grateful. CCAC activities are also made possible with the support of the Michigan Council for Arts and Cultural Affairs, a partner agency of the National Endowment for the Arts, as well as the on-going support of its members and friends.
