ST. JOHNS < There is plenty of creative fun and learning waiting for kids
this summer at Clinton County Arts Councilšs Save Some Summer for Art kids
art camps.
Art camp sessions are being offered five days in June and five days in July,
and there is still time for kids to join the fun. Parents can sign up their
kids for eight days or one day, or for whatever number of days best suits
their interests and summer schedule. All classes will be held at the depot
location, 107 E. Railroad St. in downtown St. Johns.
Classes for the youngest campers < ages 4 to 6 < will be offered from 10 to
11:30 a.m. each camp day. Budding artists age 7 to 9 can sign up for classes
held from 1 to 2:30 p.m. The classes designed for aspiring artists age 10 to
12 are planned for 3 to 4:30 p.m.
"This is a really great opportunity for area students," said Shelley
Gunther, who is coordinating the summer art camps. "We are so fortunate to
have so many truly gifted artists in the area who are willing to take time
from their busy lives to participate in these camps and share their gifts
with these kids."
The fee for each session of camp is $10 for CCAC members and $12 for non
members. Interested individuals can call the CCAC art gallery at (989)
224-2429 for more information. There are still openings in all sessions.
Parents can call to reserve slots. Those interested in the first sessions,
can just show up and register on the spot.
